‘Reputation’ depicts the Pennsylvania pop-star like we’ve never seen her before! If you listened to her previous 2014 release, ‘1989’, you will be astounded at the amount of progress Taylor has made since then. ‘Reputation’ has Taylor experimenting with sensational production techniques and off-the-chain features!
Taylor capitalized on her transition to pop in ‘1989’, and ‘Reputation’ proves that the star has already mastered the craft. The project launches with her hit single, ‘…Ready For It’, which involves a heavy base and a ton of electric overlapping vocals. ‘…Ready For It’ transitions into ‘End Game’, which features and incredible chant of a hook and also includes sweet verses from none other than Ed Sheeran and Future! Other tracks like ‘I Did Something Bad’ and ‘Don’t Blame Me’ involve Taylor’s capability to execute powerful audio engineering techniques. My personal favorite track on the album is ‘Delicate’, which ditches most of the use of autotune, capturing Taylor’s fantastic song-writing abilities and also the delivery of a fantastic hook!
Taylor Swift will never stop impressing us, her talents and how she presents herself will inspire many for generations to come. It sucks that we’re going to have to wait another 2+ years for her next project, but if one project will hold us over until then, it’s definitely ‘Reputation’.
Since ‘Reputation’ won’t be available on streaming services for another few days, feel free to purchase her new album below!
